Dit concert is een viering van Coltranes muziek: intens, spiritueel en grenzeloos. Maar evenzeer is het een eerbetoon aan zijn vrije geest – een geest in permanente resonantie.

Flat Earth Society (FES) geldt sinds 1999 als een van de meest eigenzinnige en grensverleggende bands uit de Belgische jazz. In de traditie van dwarse componisten als Charles Mingus, Sun Ra en Frank Zappa is geen enkel concert van FES hetzelfde.FES is in Nederland bekend geworden met de soundtrack van de Nederlandse familiefilm Minoes uit 2001.
