Holland Baroque

In Bach inspiriert wordt de vorm van de stukken losgelaten en gaan de composities hun eigen weg. De orgelwerken vormen de inspiratie: Tineke en Judith Steenbrink vertalen de kleurenpracht van de ‘koningin der instrumenten’ naar het even kleurrijke barokorkest. Ruim baan voor improvisatie, een praktijk die onlosmakelijk met de barokke orgelcultuur verbonden is.

Bach inspiriert is the sequel to the successful Bachs Königin, about which De Volkskrant wrote the following: 'Holland Baroque is making Bach's organ pipes dance.' Once again, Bach's unparalleled organ compositions are taken out of a niche that is inaccessible to many. It is no surprise that Bach especially wrote some of his most beautiful and inventive pieces for his own instrument. He was the unequalled master of the organ. 

In Bach inspiriert, Holland Baroque doesn't play the original arrangements, but they let the music find its own way. Inspired by the organ compositions, Tineke and Judith Steenbrink translate the colorful splendor of the "queen of instruments" to the equally colorful Baroque orchestra. There is plenty of room for improvisation, a practice inextricably linked to Baroque organ culture.
